Enterprise skills for pre-production planning
While recording the podcast I worked with others as well as used communication skills as I have another presenter in addition to myself. I messaged the person I wanted to be in the podcast a week before I intended to record it, then on the day they were able to keep a time slot open in-order to record. This was the preferred method as I could have waited until the day to ask and the other presenter may have already had a prior engagement because I didn't give enough notice.
I worked independently when creating the logo as well as collecting the sound effects for my podcast. Theses were the most notable and important to the podcast its self but I worked independently for all parts of the pre-production process excluding the recording of the podcast and initial brainstorming of ideas where I required the help of others to increase the quality of the product however, i had to work independently and take initiative when first creating my idea as there was no one to reassure me
One instance where I had to use problem solving skills was when trying to find a room to record the room that I intended to use was taken so I had to find an alternative quickly as I had under half-an-hour to record and I wanted my podcast to be around twelve minuets in length the room also needed to be quiet, I found a different office to record in which was quiet. This was effective because it insured that the audio recording was of high quality, the sound level of the room was important because the device i was using wasn't the most advanced so i wasn't able to control what was being recorded as effectively as if i had a higher end piece of equipment. If this problem hadn't been solved then I may have had to re-record the podcast if the room was too noisy or I might have not recorded at all which would have meant that I would have been pushed to complete the work by the last deadline. This could have been a problem if my partner wasn't available at the same times as me, this could have meant that I missed the deadline for blog posts and preparing materials. Another way that I could have got around this problem is I could have recorded at my house however, this would have been difficult for my co-presenter to get to and because of this could have meant that we would have limited time to recorded possibly resulting in the podcast being of lesser quality than was intended.
I had to apply self-motivation when completing the blog posts as they are quite time consuming as well as repetitive which makes them boring to complete, it was also hard to make sure that all my posts are of a high standard. But, if I hadn't motivated myself to complete them then my final podcast wouldn't have been of as good quality as planning is an important part of any production and can have a big impact on the end result.
I met the demands of the creative brief by reviewing a Netflix original TV show and having more than one presenter to give a more balanced review of the show but also giving an overall rating of the show as well as recommending it to a certain audience, it was also made in a low budget. After listening to the recording of the review back I think it also meets the specification of being light-hearted while also being to the point.
